Medical staff members oversee the diabetes management of all campers and provide treatment for any illness, injury, or emergencies that may occur. Regular meetings with fellow medical team members ensure that all staff are informed and prepared to address any medical needs.
Counselors collaborate with medical staff, programming teams, and NDA members to ensure the well-being of the campers. Their responsibilities include supervising continuous glucose monitors, conducting blood glucose tests, and administering treatments for low blood glucose levels. Throughout each camp session, counselors reside alongside the campers, gaining valuable hands-on experience and making a positive impact in the lives of children living with diabetes.
The Programming Staff primarily work behind the scenes both before and during camp sessions, preparing and facilitating activities for the campers. These dedicated volunteers play an essential role in ensuring that each camper has an exceptional experience at all NDA camp programs.
