The CIT is a time-honored initiative that operates concurrently with Camp Vegas, Family Camp, and Camp Buck. CIT participants are a select group of adolescents chosen from a vast pool of candidates through a meticulous selection process involving interviews, volunteer commitments, recommendation letters, and considerations for returning campers based on their behavior at camp over the previous years. If your teenager will reach the age of 15 or older by the commencement of camp, they are eligible to apply for a position in the CIT.
CIT participants are required to volunteer for at least two NDA events per year to qualify for a CIT position, with attendance at the Jail & Bail event being mandatory. Volunteering provides teenagers with opportunities to demonstrate their leadership qualities, organizational skills, maturity, and teamwork. Various volunteering opportunities are available, including assisting at parent support groups and large-scale fundraisers. Please visit the designated Volunteer Signup page for your respective area listed below.
For further information about the CIT, please reach out to the CIT Program Directors mentioned below or contact the camp manager, Emily Hixson, directly.
